Job Description

Front Desk Associate Between studying at USC and interning at a wealth management firm I’m due for some relaxation during my downtime. My favorite way to unwind is through hot yoga, something I’ve practiced for over six years. After practicing at my yoga studio, Hot8Yoga, for a couple years, I thought, “Why not make some extra money and get hot yoga for free?” That is how I started working as a Front Desk Associate at the studio. A Front Desk Associate is a person who operates the day-to-day tasks to ensure a smoothly functioning studio. The employees at the front desk are the first people you see when entering the studio and the last people you see when leaving. Our role is extremely important to the studios’ success because we have the most facetime with clients, making sure their needs are met. There are three actions that help to sum up the duties of a Front Desk Associate: Check-In Sell Clean I’ll describe each of these actions using examples from a shift on...

My Life on the Road Thoughts

Her father being a traveling salesman meant she was always on the road helping bring in money. Her mother dealing with severe mental health issues meant Gloria often put herself second to take care of her. The chapter made me realize that just because a person doesn't ha...

Who You Are Matters

I was born in Palo Alto, California. I moved to Houston, Texas when I was a year old and then shortly after moved to Scottsdale, Arizona when I was 3. After graduating from the University of Southern California in May, I'll be moving to Melbourne, Australia to work in distribution at a Mortgage Fund in the Central Business District. I will continue working at the firm and climb up the ranks over time. I will get there by living with friends I met while studying at the University of Melbourne on exchange. I will climb up the ranks of the firm by demonstrating leadership, drive and initiative as well as surpassing the previous sales numbers of the firm. I'm like my father in the sense that I'm very career driven and hold myself to an extremely high standard. I'm like my mother in the sense that I'm personable and engaging with friends and strangers. I'm unlike my father in the aspect that I see problems with a gray area, not always in black and white. I'...
